Meet our new Deputy Director!
Prospect New Orleans is proud to announce the appointment of Taylor Holloway as Deputy Director. Holloway, who has a background in architecture, social impact strategy, and studio art, first joined Prospect in the summer of 2008, working as a welder and preparator during Prospect.1. Holloway returned to Prospect in 2021 as the first ever Manager of Programs & Audience Engagement.
Throughout Prospect.5, Holloway developed over forty public programs, connecting audiences with P.5 artists, culture bearers, community organizations, local businesses, and each other. Holloway worked closely with a number of P.5 artists, including Kevin Beasley, EJ Hill, Anastasia Pelias, Cooking Sections, and Nari Ward, to bring some of Prospect’s most ambitious artworks to life across New Orleans.
In 2021, Holloway collaborated with Xavier University and Spelman College to launch Prospect’s annual HBCU Internship Program. In 2022, she also organized the Young Artists Exchange, an annual day of free hands-on workshops and professional mentorship opportunities that support young artists as they pursue a creative career and life in New Orleans and beyond.
“I'm so pleased for Prospect to have Taylor in this position,” says Prospect’s Executive Director, Nick Stillman. “The breadth of her professional experience -- architecture, design, and community-building, all of it with a lens on equity -- makes her the right fit to become our Deputy Director. Since she joined Prospect in 2021, her voice has become important to our organization and our constituents; she's earned this.”
Committed to expanding Prospect’s offerings to New Orleans artists, Holloway is currently spearheading the Artists of Public Memory Commission, which invites Louisiana-born and/or based artists to share their visions of how monuments and collective memories can appear and function in our landscape, society, and public space.
“It is an honor to serve as a bridge between the artists and residents of New Orleans and the ambitious future of Prospect,” says Prospect’s Deputy Director, Taylor Holloway. “I look forward to deepening Prospect’s commitment to supporting artists who are from or fortunate enough to visit the city of New Orleans.”
Prior to joining Prospect, Taylor facilitated the creation of people- and community-centered design solutions at myriad organizations including StudioBE, Southeastern Louisiana University, YouthBuild USA, University of Johannesburg, SITE Santa Fe, and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.
